Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 7, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how solopartygames.com (the "Site") uses cookies and similar technologies (including browser local storage), what they are for, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What we use, at a glance
| Category | Technology | Purpose | Set by | Consent needed (EEA/UK/CH) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Browser local storage (spg_* keys) | Save your personal best scores, streaks, daily challenge state, and game preferences on your own device | First party (the Site) | No — required for the games to work as designed |
| Analytics | None (cookieless) | Aggregate, cookieless usage statistics (page views, game events). No identifiers, no cross-site tracking | First party infrastructure | No — no personal data processing |
| Advertising | Cookies & similar technologies | Serve and measure ads, limit repeat ad frequency, and — only with your consent — personalize ads | Third parties (Google AdSense and its partners) | Yes — not set until you consent |
| Fonts and icons | Self-hosted web fonts / inline SVG (no cookies) | Load the typefaces and icons (Bricolage Grotesque, DM Sans, Material Symbols) from the same origin (/assets/fonts/) that render the site's design | First party (the Site) | No — no cookies are set and no third-party font requests are made |
Note — fonts and icons: all font files and icon assets are self-hosted under /assets/fonts/ and load from the same origin as the page. No requests are sent to fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com, or any other third-party font host; no cookies are set and no IP address is transmitted to a third-party font provider. Blocking web fonts only changes how text looks. Details: Privacy Policy, Section 10.
2. Strictly necessary: local storage (not a cookie)
Our games store progress in your browser's local storage under keys prefixed with spg_. This is how the Site remembers your personal best and streak between visits. Local storage data:
- stays on your device and is never transmitted to us;
- is not shared with advertisers;
- can be deleted at any time via your browser settings ("Clear site data" for solopartygames.com).
Because this storage is strictly necessary to provide the feature you requested (saving your own progress), it does not require consent. Note: local storage is not a "cookie" in the technical sense, but EU/UK rules treat similar storage technologies the same way, so we disclose it here.
3. Analytics: cookieless by design
We use privacy-friendly analytics (e.g., Cloudflare Web Analytics or a self-hosted cookieless equivalent). It does not set cookies, does not store identifiers or tracking data in local storage, and does not fingerprint your device. (The analytics script reads at most one local-storage entry — an optional plausible_ignore opt-out flag you can set yourself; it never writes one.) We only receive aggregate counts.
4. Advertising cookies (third-party)
The Site shows ads served by Google AdSense and its partners. These vendors may set cookies or use similar technologies to:
- serve ads and prevent the same ad repeating excessively (frequency capping);
- measure ad performance (impressions, clicks, viewability);
- detect invalid traffic and abuse;
- personalize ads based on your visits to this and other sites — only if you have consented to personalization (EEA/UK/CH) or have not opted out (US).
Typical cookies in this category include Google's advertising cookies (e.g., those associated with doubleclick.net and Google's ad services) and cookies of Google's ad partners. These cookies are set and read by the third-party vendors under their own privacy policies; we do not receive their contents.

Your ad-personalization choices
- Cookie banner (EEA/UK/CH): on your first visit, our consent banner (a Google-certified Consent Management Platform using the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework) lets you accept, reject, or customize advertising cookies and personalization. Non-essential advertising cookies are not set before your choice. You can change or withdraw consent anytime via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.
- Google Ads Settings: https://adssettings.google.com/
- Industry opt-outs: https://www.aboutads.info/choices/ (US) · https://www.youronlinechoices.com/ (EU/EEA/UK) · https://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/
- California / US states: use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the footer, or enable Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser — we honor it.
- Browser controls: you can block or delete cookies via your browser settings. Blocking advertising cookies will not break the games; you will still see ads, just non-personalized ones. Deleting first-party site data will reset your local game progress.
5. Cookie lifetimes
- First-party local storage (
spg_*): persists until you clear it; no automatic expiry. - Third-party advertising cookies: lifetimes are set by the vendors (Google's advertising cookies are commonly set for up to 13 months in the EEA/UK, per Google's published policy).
6. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy when our use of cookies changes. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version.
